Coordinators’ Meeting Kicks Off Phase 2 of SEANAFE’s Markets for Agroforestry Tree Products Project

A two-day Coordinators’ Meeting on 9-10 March 2007 in Bogor, Indonesia kicked off the Phase 2 implementation of SEANAFE’s Markets for Agroforestry Tree Products Project.

The meeting was aimed at:

Revisiting and defining the scopes of the themes of the Markets for Agroforestry Tree Products Curricular Framework
Reviewing and finalizing the country case study materials for translation in local language of SEANAFE member countries
Presenting and refining country team proposals
Agreeing on the major processes and basic activities that the country team would undertake for the Project’s Phase 2
Agreeing on the county teams’ Terms of Reference in implementing the Project’s Phase 2 activities
Orienting the country teams on some practical tips in organizing and implementing an In-Country Training Course of the project
Agreeing on the timetable of activity implementation of the Project.
The Project’s Phase 2 activities are expected to commence upon contract signing between representatives of ICRAF-SEANAFE and country networks on 15 March 2007. The country teams are expected to conduct in-country training courses on the use of the case study materials generated by the project on or before August 2007 as their culminating activity.

The country coordinators in attendance during the meeting included Dr. Leti Sundawati (Indonesia), Dr. Latsamy Boupha (Laos), Dr. Isabelita Pabuayon (Philippines), Dr. Charoon Suksem (Thailand), and Mr. Dang Hai Phuong (Vietnam). Dr. Jess Fernandez, SEANAFE Technical Adviser, facilitated the meeting sessions.
